Hársaga - Reykjavík, Iceland

Hársaga is a rewarded hair salon owned by the hairdresser Sigrun Aegisdottir. At age 17, Sigrun began her studies and finished 4 years later as a fully qualified hairdresser. In 1982 she bought her salon at Hotel Saga, from a retiring colleague whose clients consisted mostly of elderly women coming in for a perm. Sigrun’s vision for the future was simple and clear. The clients needed to feel comfortable and welcome while they had their hair done, leave pleased, spread the word and come back for more. Her first step was to modernize the salon which was a challenging task since she wanted to keep the steady clients, despite the new look, and to attract a whole new set of clients to mix with the existing ones.
