ErkiTónlist - Reykjavík, Iceland

Founded in 1985, ErkiTónlist was established to support creative musicians who, for various reasons, did not receive commercial backing. ErkiTónlist sf has released multiple vinyl and CD records of experimental and theatre music, created the MIC database for Icelandic music (www.mic.is), created music videos for experimental music, hosted seminars for young musicians focusing on computer music, started and managed the biannual ErkiTid, the first electronic music festival in Iceland, assisted in the development of CALMUS, a computer program for musical composition, operated a studio for recording, sound design, video production, and CALMUS programming, and released CDs of both classical and modern music.
