Pure North - Hveragerdi, Iceland

Pure North is an Icelandic environmental technology firm that concentrates on solutions for the circular economy. Founded in 2015 by Sigurour Halldorsson, the company's headquarters is based in Hveragerdi, Iceland. Pure North Recycling is the only company in Iceland that fully recycles plastic, having been established four years ago. It recycles a majority of hay roll plastic found in Iceland, around 2000 tons per year. The firm is taking its first steps in recycling hard plastic and has the goal of recycling packaging plastic too, as 95% of unprocessed packaging plastic is currently exported.
